For a number of years we have considered the Wassermann reaction to be eminently suitable for complete automation. It was after our experience with the Technicon Autoanalyser doing chemical analyses that we decided to experiment with the Wassermann reaction. The following paper records the details of our method, based on the Whitechapel technique (Wilkinson, 1962). It does not include details of the experimental work started in October, 1963. I.
