a b s t r a c t Mineralogy of the Lunar surface provides important clues for understanding the composition and evolution of the primordial crust in the EartheMoon system. The primary rock forming minerals on the Moon such as pyroxene, olivine and plagioclase are potential tools to evaluate the Lunar Magma Ocean (LMO) hypothesis. Here we use the data from Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M 3 ) onboard the Chandrayaan-1 project of India, which provides Visible e Near Infra Red (NIR) spectral data (hyperspectral data) of the Lunar surface to gain insights on the surface mineralogy. Band shaping and spectral profiling methods are used for identifying minerals in four sites: Moscoviense Basin, Orientale Basin, Apollo Basin and Wegener Crater e highland. The common presence of plagioclase is in conformity with the anorthositic composition of the Lunar crust. Pyroxenes, olivine and Fe-Mg-spinel from the sample sites indicate the presence of gabbroic and basaltic components. The compositional difference in pyroxenes suggests magmatic differentiation on the Lunar surface. Olivine contains OH/H 2 O band, indicating hydrous phase in the primordial magmas. Mushrooms are precious fungi, which exists as an important and integral component of the ecosystem. They are the macro or larger fungi which possess fleshy, subfleshy, or sometimes leathery, umbrella like fructifications, which bear their spore producing surface either on lamellae (gills) or lining the tubes, opening out by means of pores. Usually the lamellate members are called ‘mushrooms’ or “toadstools’ depending upon whether or not they are edible or poisonous and therefore the tube bearing poroid members, as boletes. Mushrooms are seasonal fungi, which occupy diverse niches in nature within the forest ecosystem. Different types of edible mushrooms are cultivated on large scale for commercial use and many more species of mushrooms grow wildly in nature which has much nutritional and medicinal value. They predominantly occur during the season and also during spring when the snow melts. In the globe, biodiversity includes not only many species that exist, but also the range of populations that makeup a species and the genetic diversity among individual life forms. Macrofungi are important economically due to their importance in food, medicine, biocontrol, chemical, biological and other industries. Macrofungi are diverse in their uses as food and medicine and a number of other species function as decomposers and also form mycorrhizal associations.
ABSTRACT:This study aims to map the urban area in and around Pune region between the year 1991 and 2010, and predict its probable future growth using remote sensing and GIS techniques. The Landsat TM and ETM+ satellite images of 1991, 2001 and 2010 were used for analyzing urban land use class. Urban class was extracted / mapped using supervised classification technique with maximum likelihood classifier. The accuracy assessment was carried out for classified maps. The achieved overall accuracy and Kappa statistics were 86.33% & 0.76 respectively. Transition probability matrix and area change were obtained using different classified images. A plug-in was developed in QGIS software (open source) based on Markov Chain model algorithm for predicting probable urban growth for the future year 2021. Based on available data set, the result shows that urban area is expected to grow much higher in the year 2021 when compared to 2010. This study provides an insight into understanding of urban growth and aids in subsequent infrastructure planning, management and decision-making.
