The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide by a polymer complex of Fe3+ and poly(acrylic acid) partially amidated by diethylenetriamine has been studied. The molecular mechanism of catalysis is discussed. The rate constant of the reaction is k = 6.9 × 107 exp {−2.300/RT}. Decomposition of hydrogen peroxide proceeds via activation by the diethylenetriamine which is a cofactor.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
