The glass formation boundaries were determined in the Bi,O,SrO-CuO, Bi,O,-CaO-CuO and Bi,O,-SrO-CaO-CuOsystems and in more complex compositions with PbO by the melt-quenching method. Using DTA, the glass transition temperature T, , softening temperature T, ,crystallization temperature T, and the temperature range of melting were established. Some regions of composition in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-0 system were found where crystalline phases of the type Bi,Sr,Ca,-,Cu,O,(n = 1,2,3) were identified. A scheme is suggested to obtain superconducting glass-ceramics by pressing and thermal treatment (at 820-640 "C) of amorphous powders.
