We performed system studies of age parageneses and lateral conjugation of peat and gold accumulation areas as well as the regularities of formation of noble-and rare-metal mineralization in Cenozoic coaliferous deposits in the south of the Russian Far East. The migration properties of noble metals (NMs) and their behavior in different media are considered. Based on literature data and results of experimental studies, we performed analysis and selection of the most optimal methods for the quantitative determination of NMs and trace and rare-earth elements. The experiments have confirmed the NB fugacity and have shown for the first time the scales of transportation of NMs as ultrafine particles during coal combustion. The obtained results significantly expand the notions of the migration properties of NMs and serve as the key to the solution of the problem of NM extraction in analytical and technological processes. Also, areas promising for noble-and rare-metal mineralization have been revealed in coal basins.
The authors determine the forms of gold transfer under coal combustion by using the experimental data. It is found that the micron-sized and nano-sized gold particles are carried away with flue ash during combustion, and only the insignificant part of the gold, localized at underburnings, remains in the form of the free gold within a combustion chamber. The authors shows that applying the method of fumesteam mixing and its futher condensation provides the maximum volatile forms of gold, being the base for creating the geotechnology of unified production cycle of the efficient stock usage and the environmental safety provision.
A bulk coal sample from the Erkovetsky deposit is studied at Amur experimental and engineering facility. Separate fractions of coal combustion products (slag, fly ash, and sludge) are obtained for the first time, in which the morphology, fineness of gold and composition of inclusions have been studied. A consistent decrease in gold size and content is determined after coal combustion, transportation in a gas-smoke stream, and subsequent condensation. A comparative analysis of gold in the combustion products of coal and in ore bodies of the mountain-folded framing of the Zeya-Bureya basin is carried out, the ways of gold migration to peat bogs are considered.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
