Анотація. Стаття присвячена проблемам формування умінь застосовувати спеціальні засоби та зброю як складової готовності до професійної діяльності майбутніх офіцерів-прикордонників.Аналіз дисертаційних робіт, монографій і наукових статей дозволив дійти висновку, що проблема підготовки майбутніх офіцерів до професійної діяльності постійно привертала увагу науковців.У викладі основного змісту матеріалу актуалізовано питання застосування зброї майбутніми офіцерами-прикордонниками. Представлено авторське визначення поняття «готовності до професійної діяльності». Представлено визначення та зміст вогневої підготовки майбутніх офіцерів прикордонної служби як виду підготовки фахівців правоохоронних органів, що постійно зазнає відповідних змін під впливом загального зростання екстремальності їх діяльності, розповсюдженням зброї серед населення, різкого збільшення використання зброї кримінальним світом, появи нових видів озброєння, способів ведення збройної боротьби тощо. Визначення завдання вогневої підготовки курсантів-прикордонників: навички блискавичної підготовки до стрільби; вміння влучно вражати ціль; впевненість у собі, врівноваженість, витримку, вміння стримувати емоційну напруженість, страх перед оточуючими; зовнішній спокій без ознак напруги, хвилювання чи нетерпіння; вольові якості: цілеспрямованість, рішучість; швидкість/адекватність реакції на поведінку оточуючих та окремих правопорушників; вміння приймати правильні рішення в напружених ситуаціях та правомірно застосовувати вогнепальну зброю та спецзасоби.Автором сформульовано наступний висновок: військовослужбовець ДПСУ, за допомогою застосування вогнепальної зброї, впливає на поведінку Актуальні питання у сучасній науці № 1( 7) 2023
