Kinetic peculiarities of the early stages of the processes of acid-catalyzed hydrolysis and condensation in sol-gel systems tetraethoxysilane (TEOS)-ethanolwater have been investigated by gas chromatography. Kinetic parameters of the process, evaluated using quantum-chemical calculations, satisfactorilly coincide with the ones determined experimentally.
We theoretically study the selective dissolution of or-brass and a zinc-aluminum alloy by a semiempirical cluster calculation. A predominance of desorption of ions from the metal surface is shown and described. The effect of elastic deformation on selective dissolution is established.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
