Microwave surface resistance values of 0.6 m at a temperature 77 K and frequency 10 GHz were measured on YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ thin films prepared on both sides of a CeO 2 -buffered R-Al 2 O 3 substrate by off-axis pulsed laser deposition in a one-step process. The duration of the completely in situ fabrication of the double-sided YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 /CeO 2 film was determined to be 35 min. The use of the modified oven design heater enabled an adequately stable and precise temperature control during the deposition on a free-standing substrate.
Superconducting films of Y-Ba-Cu-O have been studied by EXAFS and XANES spectroscopy. Films of thickness 10013/~ obtained by laser sputtering onto sapphire substrates had T~ of about 90 K, ATc of about 2 K and the ? axis orientation normal to the substrate surface. The EXAFS and XANES spectra were measured in the region of Y and CuK edges at different orientations of the sample with respect to the polarization vector E. The spectra were measured in the surface-sensitive total electron yield detection mode. The observed differences between the spectra are discussed and compared with theoretical calculations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
