Europe, E. pallida is a typical indoor dweller [Nentwig et al., 2022]; yet, it was recorded as a troglophile species [Mammola et al., 2018]. N. mogera is represented by introduced populations in Europe and the Urals. In temperate areas of Europe, it is a true synanthropic (=eusynanthropic) species [Esyunin et al., 2019]; naturalized populations of this species are only known from South Europe (Ballarin, pers. comm.) and the Caucasus [Marusik, Guseinov, 2003].At the moment, three nesticid species have been reported from the Urals [Esyunin, Efimik, 1995, 1998Esyunin et al., 2019], of which one, Aituaria pontica (Spassky, 1932), is known from the cis-Ural steppe zone [Esyunin, 2017]. During the past decade numerous materials have been collected from various localities of the steppe zone of Orenburg Area. A new nesticid-like species belonging to an undescribed genus has been found in this material. The aim of the present work is to diagnose and describe these new species and genus.
This article presents the results of studying the abundance, biotopic preference and seasonal dynamics of the meadow tick Dermacentor reticulatus Fabricius, 1794 (= D. pictus Hermann, 1804) in the Perm Krai. D. reticulatus mites prefer open biotopes, concentrating in moist areas. The number of ticks ranged in spring from 1 to 11.5 specimens per flago/km, and in autumn from 0.5 to 23.5 specimens per flago/km. Two periods of activity have been established: spring and autumn. In autumn, the number of ticks of this species is higher than in spring.
A new gratum species group of the genus Cheiracanthium consisting of 10 species is proposed and diagnosed. Cheiracanthium gratum Kulczyński, 1897 is redescribed and illustrated based on newly collected materials. A new species -C. buri sp.n. -from Buryatia (Russia) is described from a single male. How to cite this paper: Esyunin S.L., Efimik V.E. 2021. A critical analysis of the literature data on the distribution of the ixodic tick Dermacentor reticulatus Fabricius, 1794 (= D. pictus Hermann, 1804) in the Perm territory was carried out. The data of the authors, as well as the staff of Rospotrebnadzor, made it possible to clarify the distribution of D. reticulatus in this region. D. reticulatus was reliably detected in the Tchaikovsky, Osinsky, Okhansky, Ochersky, Nytvensky, Chernushinsky, Suksunsky districts of the Perm Krai and in the right-bank part of Perm.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
