Using the molecular field model t o non Bravais lattices the following results are obtatined: The sub-lattices of Gd for the compound Gd,Au in the first ordered state below the paramagnetic state order ferromagnetically while in the Gd,Al compound they possess a helicoidal spin structure. In the ground state, Gd,Au is ferromagnetic and G&AI is antiferromagnetic when a quite large number of neighbours is included in the calculation and for a propagation vector k = 0 (ferromagnetic sublattices).Unter Anwendung der Molekularfeldmethode auf Nicht-Bravais-Gitter werden folgende E g e bnisse erhalten: Die Gd-Untergitter der Verbindung Gd,Au sind im ersten geordneten Zustand unterhalb des paramagnetischen Zustands ferromagnetisch geordnet, wiihrend sie in der G4Al-Verbindung eine Helix-Spinstruktur besitzen.
The Magnetic Behaviour of the Pseudobinary Compounds GdgAu,Ali-, BY V. BRI~DXMAS~), H. GAMARX-SEALE, and C. PAPATRIANTAFXLLOU 527 Theoretical calculations and experimental results are presented on the magnetic behaviour of Gd,AuxAll-, for x E [O, 11. While the theoretical calculations using the mean field approximation and RKKY theory indicate antiferromagnetic ordering for x < 0.2 and ferromagnetic ordering for z > 0.2, susceptibility measurements indicate a rather complicated situation with two transitions in the vicinity of 200 and 25 K (dependent on 2). Cluster formation is observed and shape effects are present.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
