Die Synthese Chinuclidin-stabilisierter Sulfene des Typs XCH2 -SOz -C(Y) = SOztN(CH2CH2)3CH (3n -d, X = Y = H, Cl, Br/H, CFJ wird beschrieben, und ein erster Einblick in die Bindungsverhaltnisse von Sulfenen konnte durch Rontgenstrukturuntersuchung von 3d erhalten werden. Hydrolyse ergibt die Ammoniumsalze XCH2-SO2 -CHY -SOT [HN(CH2CH& CHJ + (5a -d), wahrend bei der Methanolyse die entsprechenden Methylchiauclidinium-Salze (6a, b) gebildet werden.

Bislang konnte auf die Existenz von Sulfenen (R2C=S02) nur indirekt durch Abfangreaktionen geschlossen werden, die Isolierung gelang wegen ihrer Reaktivitat nichtGanz offensichtlich scheinen jedoch Lewis-Basen, insbesondere tertiare Amine, stabilisierend auf diese SO3-analogen Verbindungen zu wirken ' I. Nachdem wir kurzlich uber die Synthese und Strukturbestimmung Amin-stabilisierter Azasulfene (RN =SO*) berichten konnten 5), gelang uns nun auf dem bekannten Wege der Reaktion tertiarer Amine rnit a-HSulfonylchloriden auch die Isolierung und Charakterisierung der ersten, jedoch nur unsymmetrisch substituierten Sulfene in ihrer Chinuclidin-stabilisierten Form6J):Besonders interessierte jedoch die Synthese eines symmetrisch substituierten Sulfens, dessen Existenzfahigkeit insbesondere bei perfluoralkylierten Vertretern zu suchen war, nachdem entsprechende Erfahrungen bei der Darstellung stabiler Sulfine, z. B. (CF3),C = SO, ~orlagen~.~). Hier hatte insbesondere die Spaltung von 1,3-Dithietan-S-oxiden zum Erfolg gefiihrt lo). Bei der Thermolyse des Tetrakis(trifluormethyl)-1,3-dithietan-l,l,3-trioxids erhielten wir erste Hinweise auf das Bis(trifluormethy1)sulfen durch die Isolierung von F2C =C(CF3)-S02F, das durch dessen intramolekulare Umlagerung entsteht'). Auch die Umsetzung von 15 rnit SiF4") und die Reaktion des Tetrakis(trifluormethyl)-l,3-dithietan-l,1,3,3-tetroxids (1 1)'' rnit Dimethylformamid zum Enamin (CF& = CHNMc2 und DMF ---+ SO3-Addukti0) deuteten auf die Existenz des Bis(trifluormethy1)sulfens hin.Dessen Darstellung nach der ublichen Methode der HCIEliminierung aus a-H-Sulfonylchloriden rnit tertiaren A m i n e~~l -~) setzte die Synthese des noch unbekannten Sulfonylchlorids 5 voraus. Dabei gingen wir von der Sulfinsaure 4, die durch Hydrolyse des Sulfins 2 als kurzzeitig stabile Verbindung entsteht 12), sowie deren Oxidation mit Peressigsaure zur Sulfonsaure 7 aus. Statt zu 5 reagiert diese jedoch mit PC15 nur zurn a-C1-Sulfonylchlorid 6.
ChemInform Abstract The synthesis of the title compound (III) can be accomplished by the reaction of mesyl chloride (I) with quinuclidine (II). The structure of (III) is determined by X-ray analysis ( P21/n; Z=4). Treatment of (III) with H2O/MeCN yields the expected salt (IV) which can be independently obtained by reaction of disulfene (V) and quinuclidine (II).
Kaum länger als eine normale C‐S‐Doppelbindung ist die C‐S‐Bindung in 2, dem ersten Addukt eines symmetrisch substituierten Sulfens. 2 wurde aus dem Dithietan 1 und Chinuclidin erhalten. Dagegen reagiert 3 mit Chinuclidin zur zwitterionischen Verbindung 4.
