The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of an 8 weeks neuromuscular training program (NTP) on motoric and selected basketball skills in pre-pubescent male basketball players. Twenty-four male basketball players were divided into two homogeneous groups according to pre-test results; an intervention group (n = 12, age = 10.6 ± 0.75 years) and a control group (n = 12, age = 10.8 ± 0.68 years). All players trained together as a team; however, the intervention group participated in an 8 weeks NTP two times per week, while the control group followed their regular basketball training system as guided by their coach. Motoric skills were assessed according to the results of an agility t-test, 20 meters sprint, and tests of back strength, vertical jump, standing long jump, sit and reach, and standing stork balance. Basketball skills were assessed according to shooting and dribbling tests. Significant differences were found only in vertical jump and flexibility in the control group (p<0.05), whereas significant differences were found in all motoric and shooting skills in the intervention group (p<0.05). In addition, according to pre-test and post-test analysis of variance (ANOVA) results of the motoric and basketball skill scores of the groups, significant differences revealed in favor of the intervention group in agility, back strength, long jump, flexibility, and balance (p<0.05). The present study demonstrated the significant effects of NTP, which focused on motoric and shooting skills in pre-pubescent male basketball players.

Distributions of all tests comply with the normal distributions for both two tests. Pearson correlation cofactor is used so as to determine the relation between varieties. With the endomorphic measurement values; a positive-directional relation is detected between 1 mile run-walk and the body weight values and a negative-directional relation between vertical jump, aerobic power and ability values (p<,05). With the endomorphic measurement values; a positive-directional relation is detected between 1 mile run-walk and body weight varieties and a negative-directional relation between aerobic power and ability values (p<,05). With the ectomorphic measurement values; a positive-directional relation is detected between aerobic power and ability and a negative-directional relation between 1 mile run-walk, vertical jump and anaerobic power values (p<,05). As a result, an increase is observed in aerobic power and abilities particular to basketball of adolescent basketball players who have ectomorphic characteristics.
The aim of the study was to examine the effects of morphological structures and fatigue levels of pre-pubescent basketball players on basketball passing skill. Twenty-three male basketball players (age = 10.5 ± 0.71) who train regularly participated in the study voluntarily. The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) Basketball Pass Test was used to determine participants' passing skills. To determine the fatigue intensity participants were required to perform as many squat thrusts as possible in one minute. The Heath-Carter method was used to determine somatotype characteristics. In the statistical analysis, Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient was used in determining the level of relationship between parameters, while Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used to determine the difference between rest passing skill and fatigue passing skill. The endomorphic structure had a negative correlation with rest passing and fatigue passing scores (rho = -0.42, -0.55; p <0.05, p <0.01, respectively). The mesomorphic structure had a negative correlation with fatigue passing score (rho = -0.45; p <0.05). A moderate positive correlation was found with the fatigue passing score of the ectomorpic structure (rho = 0.58, p <0.01). Significant differences were found between the passing scores of basketball players' rest and fatigue (p<0.01). As a result, it was determined that both rest and fatigue passing scores decreased with the increased of the endomorphic structure representing the fatness feature and also fatigue passing scores decreased with the increased of the mesomorphic structure. But, fatigue passing score increased with the increased of the ectomorphic structures of basketball players. In addition, the results of the study showed that as the fatigue levels of pre-pubescent basketball players increased, the passing skill levels decreased.
