In tal modo, seiiza ricorrere a sperimentazioni che alterino prof ondamente i feiiomeni vitali, ma anzi usaiido condizioni in cui le cellule vengono spesso anche naturalmente a trovarsi, si pu6 cercare di interpretare le condizioni morf ologiche, fisiologiche e patologiche delle cellule, complesso di condizioni che costituiscono quella che si pu6 chiamare la biologia cellulare. Tale indagine pub essere proficuamente fatta a1 lume della moderna citologia, clie nelle forme & ahituata a vedere spesso il risultato di dati stati funzionali. I1 vedere come le forme cellulari si modificano sotto 1' azione delle variate condizioni fuiizionali i, appunto il compito principale che mi sono prefisso nel presente lavoro.Voglio inoltre quali modificazioiii di indole generale compaiono nel digiuno e infine esaminare le cause che si debbone supporre conducano a morte 1' organismo.A tale scopo voglio riesamiiiare ricercare i risnltati di esperienze da me condotte sul lungo digiuno e che, considerati sotto un diverso punto di vista, sono stati gig da me in parte pubblicati ( '21, '26).
