The rate of the reaction between hydrogen atoms and chlorine has been determined in a discharge-flow system. By use of sensitive detection of H atoms by Lyman-cc resonance fluorescence the reaction could be studied at low initial H atom concentrations and unperturbed by interfering processes. From measurements in the temperature range T = 252 -458 K the Arrhenius expression cm3 k , = (8.7 k 1.7)1013exp(-5.0 & 0,6kJmol-'/RT)-mol s can be derived.
Rate constants for the reactions of hydrogen atoms with NO2 ( k , ) and NOCl (k2) have been determined in a discharge flow system using the detection of H atoms by Lyman-u resonance fluorescence. From temperature dependent measurements in the range T = 240-460 K the Arrhenius expressions (in units of cm3/mol. s) k l = (4.3 k 1.8)1014exp(-4.2 +0.7kJmol-'/RT) and k2 = (4.6 k 1.2)10'3exp(-3.8 + 0.6kJmol-'/RT) could be obtained.

Aus Messungen im Temperaturbereich T = 240-460 K lassen sich die Arrheniusbeziehungen (in cm3/mol. s) k , = (4,3 & 1,8)1014exp(-4,2 k 0,7kJmol-'/RT) und k2 = (4,6 k 1,2)1013exp(-3,8 + 0,6kJmol-'/RT) herleiten.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
