Professor Kurt Dehnicke zum 70. Geburtstag gewidmet Inhaltsu È bersicht. 1,2-Dithioquadratatometallate (M = Cu, Ni, Zn) sind durch direkte Umsetzung entsprechender Metallsalze mit Dikalium-1,2-dithioquadratat zuga È nglich. Anhand von EPR-spektroskopischen Untersuchungen wird der strukturelle Einfluû planarer und nichtplanarer Wirtsgittersysteme (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Cu/Ni(dtsq) 2 ] und (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Cu/Zn(dtsq) 2 ] auf die geometrische und elektronische Struktur des dotierten Cu II -Gastkomplexes [Cu(dtsq) 2 ] 2± verfolgt. Die verwendeten Wirtsgitter (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Ni(dtsq) 2 ] (planar) und (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Zn(dtsq) 2 ] (tetraedrisch) wurden durch Ro È ntgenkristallstrukturanalyse charakterisiert. (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Ni(dtsq) 2 ] kristallisiert in der triklinen Raumgruppe P1 mit den Elementarzellenparametern a = 9,1021 (8) A Ê , b = 9,4190(8) A Ê , c = 11,0119(10) A Ê , a = 92,8560(10)°, b = 95,375(2)°, c = 104,5180(10)°und Z = 1. (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Zn(dtsq) 2 ] kristallisiert in der monoklinen Raumgruppe C2/c mit a = 21,1299(14) A Ê , b = 16,6641 (11) A Ê , c = 13,8324(9) A Ê , b = 123,9100(10)°und Z = 4. Die g-und A Cu -Tensoren im Cu/Ni-System sind anna Èhernd axialsymmetrisch (g || = 2,122, g^= 2,028; A Cu k = ±159,5´10 ±4 cm ±1 , A Cu ? = ±36,9´10 ±4 cm ±1 ). Im tetraedrischen Cu/Zn-System wird die Koordination des Cu II -Gastkomplexes merklich verzerrt, was sich in den vera È nderten g-und A Cu -Tensorparametern zeigt (g || = 2,143, g^= 2,042; A Cu k = ±103,0´10 ±4 cm ±1 , A Cu ? » ±5,0´10 ±4 cm ±1 ). Die Spindichteverteilung wird mit Hilfe von EHT-MO-Berechnungen diskutiert.Abstract. 1,2-Dithiosquaratometalates (M = Cu, Ni, Zn) are available by direct synthesis from metal salts with dipotassium-1,2-dithiosquarate. The structural influence of the planar and nonplanar host lattice systems (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Cu/ Ni(dtsq) 2 ] and (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Cu/Zn(dtsq) 2 ] on the geometrical and electronic structure of the Cu II guest complex [Cu(dtsq) 2 ] 2± is studied by EPR spectroscopy. The used host lattices (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Ni(dtsq) 2 ] (planar) and (BzlEt 3 N) 2 -[Zn(dtsq) 2 ] (tetrahedral) are characterized by X-ray structure analysis. (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Ni(dtsq) 2 ] crystallizes in the triclinic unit cell P1 with a = 9.1021 (8) A Ê , b = 9.4190(8) A Ê , c = 11.0119(10) A Ê , a = 92.8560(10)°, b = 95.375(2)°, c = 104.5180(10)°and Z = 1. (BzlEt 3 N) 2 [Zn(dtsq) 2 ] crystallizes in the monoclinic unit cell C2/c with a = 21.1299(14) A Ê , b = 16.6641(11) A Ê , c = 13.8324(9) A Ê , b = 123.9100 (10)°and Z = 4. The g and A Cu tensors in the Cu/Ni system are nearly axial symmetric (g || = 2.122, g^= 2.028; A Cu k = ±159.51 0 ±4 cm ±1 , A Cu ? = ±36.9´10 ±4 cm ±1 ). The coordination geometry of the Cu II guest complex in the tetrahedral Cu/Zn system is rather distorted, which is shown by the changed g and A Cu tensor parameters (g || = 2.143, g^= 2.042; A Cu k = ±103.01 0 ±4 cm ±1 , A Cu ? » ±5.0´10 ±4 cm ±1 ). The spin density distribution is discussed using EHT molecular orbital calculations.
