Magneto-optical thin films with composition Tb-Fe-Co-Cr are coated on AI foil, Co-base and Fe-base amorphous ribbons.The thickness of M-O thin film is in the range from 200nm to l000nm, which is sandwiched between two AlN layers with thickness lOOnm to prevent it from oxidlation. The Kerr hysteresis loops of M-O films were measured with wavelength from 500nm to 86Onm, and the peak applied field was. 9kOe. The Kerr rotation angles ofM-O films deposited on Co-base and Fe-base amorphous ribbons are improved by a factor of2.6 and 2.86 respectively at wavelength 780nm. The Kerr angles ofM-O films are enhanced markedly by either Co-base or Fe-base amorphous ribbons.
