Civil society become a social concept that is able to help Indonesian people for living in harmony in the midst of diversity. Civil society in Indonesia upholds the synergy of democratic freedom and the use of law as a means of control and monitoring in social aspects. Later, the term civil Islam emerged, in which the Islamic leaders in Indonesia seek to incorporate Islamic values and practices into the democratic process. The implementation process has been going on for several decades. However, there are certain symptoms that indicate the degradation of public civilized values. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the process of implementing civil society and civil Islam in Indonesia, viewed from the perspective of religion sociology, which focuses on inter-religious tolerance. The study used a structured literature study and phenomenological approach. The finding shows that the process of implementing civil society has not been carried out optimally, because there is a gap between the views of implementing civil society from the majority and minorities. The gap should be a priority to be bridged to avoid religious intolerance. More understanding and application of Pancasila principles need to be strived earnestly, for the sake of inter-religious tolerance.
Pentecostal praise and worship always develop time by time. The pattern changes can be understood as a continuous process of church restoration from time to time towards the apostolic church. The restoration of Tabernacle of David (RTOD) is proposed to be a reference for Pentecostals to formulate the theological foundation in renewing the pattern of praise and worship in the present era. This paper aims to (i) explain the theological basis of the Pentecostal pattern of praise and worship in today's era, (ii) explain the theological meaning of RTOD prophecy and its relationship to praise and worship, and (iii) explain the application of RTOD in renewal of the Pentecostal praise and worship in the present era. This paper uses a qualitative method by applying a systematic literature study and phenomenological approaches to understand the theological basis of praise and worship pattern, the meaning of RTOD in general and related to praise and worship, components in RTOD, and its application in praise worship. The results of the study show that the RTOD can be used as a theological foundation and renewal of Pentecostal praise and worship in the present era.So, it can be concluded that the theological basis and definition RTOD can be used as a reference for applying it in the praise and worship of today's Pentecostals.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the spiritual activities of Christians in Indonesia. However, various restrictions that have arisen due to the pandemic have not stopped church leaders from carrying out their ministry, including discipleship. March 2020 to September 2021, various studies have been carried out using various research methods to discuss discipleship during the pandemic. Thus, this research aims to conduct an extensive review on discipleship during pandemic era in Indonesia from 2020 to 2021 focuses on the model, criteria of teacher, and size of discipleship recommendations. This research used a systematic review method from previous research results that were inventoried and analyzed systematically in a synthesis. The search resulted in 20 articles from various journals, which were then filtered into 12 articles focus on discussing the model, teacher criteria, and discipleship size in Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that family and cell group-based discipleship models, taught by the parents and church servants, with a slender size (one-on-one and one-to-many with maximum 12 of size) are most recommended to be applied in this pandemic era. All type of discipleship must have an orientation towards completing the Great Commission.
