The aim of this study was to examine the beliefs of teachers about occupational practices through the metaphors they developed. The occupational practices, mostly experienced in their own schools, held in September and June annually. The study was designed as a descriptive quantitative research comprising of 150 teachers. The research data was collected from those teachers of Muratpaşa district of Antalya through "Metaphors Teachers Survey Towards the Occupational Practices" developed by researchers. Data applied content analysis was divided into two categories "occupational practices" and "ideal occupational practices". Occupational practices period grouped into ten themes and ideal occupational practices grouped into nine themes. The important findings of study are that nearly all of the teachers have generated negative metaphors about the occupational practices and nearly all of the teachers have generated positive metaphors about the ideal occupational practices. The theme of "occupational practices as a wasted time and fruitless actions" has been the mostly observed metaphor theme and The theme of "ideal occupational practices as instructive actions and benefit-providing actions" has been the mostly observed metaphor theme.ÖZ: Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin geliştirdikleri metaforlardan yola çıkarak mesleki çalışmalar hakkındaki öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemektir. Mesleki çalışmalar, öğretmenler arasında seminer dönemi diye adlandırılan, haziran ve eylül aylarında ikişer haftalık periyotlarla düzenlenen çalışmalardır. Bu çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemine uygun olarak tasarlanan betimsel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Antalya İli Muratpaşa İlçesi'nde görev yapmakta olan 150 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "Mesleki Çalışmalara Yönelik Öğretmen Metaforları Formu" aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. İçerik analizine tabi tutulan veriler "uygulanan mesleki çalışmalar" ve "ideal mesleki çalışmalar" diye iki kategoriye ayrılmıştır. Bu kategorilerden "uygulanan mesleki çalışmalar" kategorisi kendi içinde on temada, "ideal mesleki çalışmalar" kategorisi de kendi içinde dokuz temada gruplandırılmıştır. Çalışmanın en dikkat çekici bulgusunun, katılımcıların neredeyse tamamının uygulanan mesleki çalışmalara yönelik olumsuz metafor geliştirmesine karşın; çok büyük oranda katılımcının ise ideal mesleki çalışmalara yönelik olumlu metaforlar geliştirmeleri olduğu söylenebilir. "Uygulanan mesleki çalışmalar" kategorisinde, "sonuç doğurmayan eylemler olarak mesleki çalışmalar" ve "boşa geçen zaman olarak mesleki çalışmalar" temaları; "ideal mesleki çalışmalar" kategorisin de ise, "fayda veren eylemler olarak ideal mesleki çalışmalar" ve "öğretici olarak ideal mesleki çalışmalar" temaları en çok metafor üretilen temalar olmuştur.Anahtar kelimeler: mesleki çalışmalar, öğretmen seminerleri, metafor.
Purpose of this study to show the views of teachers, who work in the primary, middle and high school of a town in Turkey, about their work engagement and organizational commitment. Research universe is comprised of teacher who working from Denizli-Kale/Turkey Sample of researches comprises of the absolute amount of universe. In this research data collection tool is comprised from three parts. Researchs show us vigor (high energy level and mental vigor), dedication (inspiration, enthusiasm, pride and high fighting emotion for joining new job) and absorption (concentrating, losing track of time) are three sub dimensions of work engagement. Normative (individuals feeling their job is their duty),contunity (the idea which if left job his had less option) and affective (adopting values, goals) are three sub dimension of organizational commitment. The phrase "I do not feel a strong sense of belonging to this organization." has the lowest point in the questionnaire. The common level of work engagement of teachers is higher than organizational commitment level of teachers. Keywords
While organizations have a power struggle with their environment and with other organizations in the globalised world, employees who are the most important resource of the organization also have power struggle among themselves. To be successful in this power struggle, employees, especially managers, use a number of political games in the organization. Developing the scale of power base games that school principles use is the aim of this study to detemine how and how much school principles use power base games in schools which are educational organizations. The sample of this study consists of 213 teachers working in Yeşilova and Karamanlı districts of Burdur city in 2015-2016 educational year. In the evaluation of the scale by authorities, Lawshe technique was used and then, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were used. After the analyses, it was found that this scale is a reliable and valid measurement tool which consists of 41 items and six dimensions as sponsorship, making alliance building, empire building, budgeting, expertise and lording.
The aim of this study is to present the opinions of educational supervisors on their job and development of the quality of supervision. To achieve this goal interview method which is one of the qualitive research methods was used. Data were collected from seven educational supervisor with an half-built interview form. Then content analysis was done. According to the results It was found that educational supervisors opinions are collected under four dimensions; "opinions about guidance role, opinions about supervision role, opinions about carrying out guidance and supervision role together and opinions about improvement of supervision". According to the results It was found that educational supervisors think that " they cannot perform their guidance role sufficiently, they encounter with difficulties while performing supervision role, their roles are contradicted and their guidance role and supervision role should be seperated. And according to this data It is propsed that supervisors' class supervision should be provided, the legistlation which will lead them to achieve the information and documents easily while supervision stage should be organized, the organizations about taking statements should be done, their supervision role and guidance role should be seperated and supervisors should be careful on their communication skills in order to break the prejiduces about them. ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı denetim sisteminin en önemli aktörleri olan eğitim denetmenlerinin görev alanlarına ve denetimin niteliğinin geliştirilmesine ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek için nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Veriler yedi maarif müfettişinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Daha sonra veriler içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. İçerik analizi sonucunda maarif müfettişlerinin görüşlerinin "rehberlik görevi ile ilgili görüşler, soruşturma görevi ile ilgili görüşler, rehberlik ve soruşturma görevinin bir arada yürütülmesi ile ilgili görüşler ve denetimin geliştirilmesine ilişkin görüşler" olarak dört ana tema altında toplandığı görülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonucuna göre maarif müfettişlerinin rehberlik görevini yeterince yerine getiremediklerini, soruşturma görevlerini yerine getirirken birçok zorlukla karşılaştıklarını, görev alanlarının birbiriyle çeliştiğini ve denetimin gelişmesi için görev alanlarının birbirinden ayrılması gerektiğini düşündükleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara dayalı olarak müfettişlerin; ders denetimi yapabilmesinin yolunun açılması, soruşturma yaparken bilgi ve belgelere daha kolay ulaşabilmeleri için gerekli yasal düzenlemelerin yapılması, ifade alabilmelerinin kolaylaştırılması için gerekli düzenlemeler yapılması, rehberlik görevleriyle soruşturma görevleri birbirinden ayrılması ve kendileri hakkında oluşan olumsuz ön yargıları kırmak
