Based on the need for a student leadership scale that is both compatible with Turkey's culture and developed for university students to achieve qualified socialization required by higher education level, in the domestic literature, this study aims to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine leadership perceptions of university students. The study was conducted with 1084 undergraduate students at 20 different public universities using quantitative research methods. Consequently, "Student Leadership Scale", comprised of 30 items and 6 sub-dimensions, was developed. As a result of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) conducted on data gathered from 572 students, Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin (KMO) value of the scale was found to be .901 and Bartlett test was significant. It was observed that the scale of 30 items and 6 sub-dimensions obtained as a result of Varimax rotation explained 51,304% of total variance. In the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) on data gathered from 512 undergraduate students, the construct was confirmed by X 2 = 1118.36; X 2 / df = 2.86; RMSEA = .06; RMR = .04; SRMR = .06; NFI = .94; NNFI = .96 and CFI = .96. As a result of the lower and upper groups t-test, the items were distinctive and the Cronbach's Alpha value was found to be .888 for the data set used in EFA and .906 for the data set used in the CFA. These findings indicated that this scale is appropriate for the use to determine leadership perceptions of undergraduate students in Turkey.
