Background: Previous research has reported a strong relationship between vertical jumping, sprinting, and agility, as a reflection of lower-limb power. Unilateral analysis of this relationship has not yet been explored. This study primarily investigated the associations between single-leg countermovement jump (CMJ), sprint, and agility performances in youth basketball players. Methods: Thirty-five male basketball players from the youth category (age 15.06 ± 2.62 years, n = 32 right-limb dominant; n = 3 left-limb dominant) performed single-leg CMJ, 20 m sprint, and T-drill agility tests over two sessions. Force–time-related performance variables were measured using a single-leg CMJ test on a Kistler force plate. Results: Significant moderate to large negative correlations were observed between single-leg CMJ variables, 20 m sprint, and T-drill agility, except for mean force for both dominant and non-dominant leg measures (r = −0.384 to −0.705). Mean power and mean force were correlated with the physical characteristics of the athletes for both legs (r = −0.389 to −0.843). Flight time and jump height were identified as the best predictor variables for both sprint and agility time in the stepwise model (R2 = 0.608 to 0.660). No statistical inter-limb differences were found during the single-leg CMJ test (p > 0.05). Conclusions: The study findings suggest that youth basketball players with greater single-leg jump output most likely have better sprint and agility performances. Thus, trainers and athletic performance coaches may include unilateral limb exercises in their training programs to enhance lower-limb explosive performance and reduce limb asymmetries.
Aim: The purpose of this study was to compare of body mass index (BMI), balance and agility features of soccer players at different positions and to investigate the relation between these features. Material and Methods: Research was carried out on 44 amateur soccer player whom played in different positions in various teams that compete in amateur league of İstanbul. In the research, it was tested vki, balance, agility with ball and agility without ball on soccer players. The average of variables was taken and Kruskal Wallis nonparametric variance analysis was used to determine the difference between groups. Pearson correlation was used to determine correlations between variables. Results: As a result of measuments, when compare between positions, it was found that there was a statistical difference on body mass measurement (p<0,01) and BMI measurements (p<0,05), as there wasn't found any statistical differences between other parameters (p>0,01). As a result of correlations, it was found statistically significant relation between body mass and agility with ball between BMI and agility with ball and between body mass and BMI variables (p<0,01). The aim of this study was to investigate the acute effects of different post-activation potential (PAP) protocols on Countermovement Jump (CMJ) performance in female athletes. Twelve elite female taekwondo athletes (age 15.17±.718 years, height 168.66±4.81 cm and body weight 49.25±2.37 kg) participated in the study voluntarily. The resistance training methods of the traditional set (1RM 75% x 3 sets x 12 repetitions and 180 s rest between sets) and cluster set (1RM 75% x 3 sets x 4+4+4 (total 12) repetitions, 30 s rest between sets and 180 s rest between sets) were applied to the research group. CMJ test performances were recorded for 30 s, 4 min and 8 min before and after both PAP protocols. Paired sample t-test was applied for pre-posttest comparison. In the traditional set structure, there was a statistically significant difference between CMJ pre test and CMJ 4 min test. In the cluster set structure, a statistically significant difference was found between CMJ pre test and CMJ30 sec, between CMJ pre test and CMJ 4 min and between CMJ pre test and CMJ 8 min. As a result, the PAP effect is better with the cluster set structure than with the traditional set due to the intermittent rest that will be given with the cluster set structure due to the sudden replenishment of energy stores.

Article visualizations:
