ÖZETAmaç: Hastane enfeksiyonları gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde önemli bir sorundur. Hastane kaynaklı enfeksiyonlar hastalarda fonksiyonel bozukluklara, duygusal strese, yaşam kalitesinin düşmesine veya ölüme neden olur. Ayrıca hastanede yatış süresinin uzaması, iş kaybının ortaya çıkması, ilaç kullanımının artması, izolasyon gereksinimi olması, ekstra laboratuvar ya da diğer tanı yöntemlerinin kullanımı gibi nedenlerle ekonomik yükü de arttırır. Anahtar kelimeler: Enfeksiyon, hastane enfeksiyonları, enfeksiyon kontrol programı ABSTRACT Objective: Hospital infection is a major issue in developed and developing countries. Hospital infections may cause functional impairments, emotional stress, reduced quality of life or death. Also, it increases economic burden due to reasons such as longer hospitalization periods, loss of work, increase in the use of medicine, need for isolation, use of additional laboratory and other diagnostic methods. Methods: In this study, data about infection control program of a foundation hospital accredited by JCI, and its infection indicators, and preventive measures taken against infection during the periods between 2014 January-March and 2015 January-March were examined, and compared with 2013 infection rates of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health. Results: In general, gross infection rate of the hospital decreased from the first three months of 2014 down to 0.39% in 2015. However. hospital infection incidence density (2.1%) in 2015 hadn't changed compared to 2014. Ventilator related pneumonias were the most seen nosocomial infections between January, and March 2014. Nosocomial pneumonia was the most frequently seen infection during the first three months of 2015. The maximum incidence of infections was seen in the intensive care unit (40%) during the first three months of 2014 Infections were most frequently seen in internal medicine (50%) during the first three months of 2015. Concusion: The Foundation Hospital has taken measures, performed infection risk analysis and surveillance studies, and produced and applied risk mitigating solutions.

Objective: To determine the relationship between the dietary characteristics of breast cancer patients. Methods: Patients with breast cancer whose treatments have finished and are in remission formed the study group and healthy people formed the control group. Demographic, anthropometric characteristics, food consumption frequency form and exercise status were recorded with all groups. Data analysis was done by SPSS 22. Results: In the study group, mean carbohydrate percentage was lower, while fat, fat percentage, monosaccharide, glucose, fructose, omega3(n3), saturated fatty acids(SFA), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), vitamin A, C, E, B6, biotin and copper values were significantly higher (p<0.05). Recurrence was observed in seven patients (7.1%) during the follow-up period, hormone receptor levels (ER) and vitamin B2 intake (accuracy 93.9%) were inversely related to the recurrence of the disease (p=0.02). Conclusions: While the percentage of carbohydrate taken was lower in study group; total fat, n3, SFA, MUFA, monosaccharide, glucose, fructose, water-soluble fiber, B6, biotin and copper values were higher. e12604 Background: Studies show that Vit D increases apoptosis by inhibiting the proliferation of BC cells. The aims of this study were to prospectively investigate the effects of Vit D replacement on PCR rates in patients receiving NAC. Methods: Breast cancer patients qualified for NAC between June 2019 and September 2020 and consent for the study were given weekly oral 50,000 IU Vit D (study group). The Control group consisted of patients who were given NAC between 2015-2020 and who did not receive Vit D replacement. Tumor characteristics and PCR compared between the study and control groups. Results: A total of 117 patients included in the study (55% in the study group). Both groups had similar patient, tumor, and treatment characteristics. PCR (ypT0/is ypN0 and ypT0/is) rates were significantly higher in the study group (28.1% vs 11.3%, p=0.025 and 37.5% vs 13.2%, p=0.003, respectively). In multivariate logistic regression analysis, estrogen receptor (ER) and HER 2 positivity, and Vit D3 replacement were identified as independent variables affecting PCR. Conclusions: Adding Vit D to NAC in breast cancer patients significantly increases PCR. This effect is more prominent in ER negative and HER2 positive breast cancer patients.
