Bu çalışma, yarı kurak iklim koşullarında iki farklı kuraklığa toleranslı asma anacı (110R ve 1103P) üzerine aşılı olarak yetiştirilen 4 adet sofralık üzüm çeşidinin (Red Globe, Barış, Hatun Parmağı, Horoz Karası) farklı göz düzeylerinden alınan odun çeliklerinin köklendirilmesiyle elde edilmiş bitkilerde vejetatif gelişimin incelenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Bağda kullanılan anaçların üzerine aşılanan çeşitlerden alınan çeliklere etkileri, çeşitlerin bu yönüyle birbirlerinden farklılıkları ve çelikle çoğaltmada kullanılmak üzere bağdan alınacak materyalin hangi boğum (göz) düzeyinden alınmasının daha uygun olacağı konularına açıklık getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular; bağda kullanılan anaçların, bu anaçlara aşılı çeşitlerden alınıp çelikle çoğaltılan bitkilerin gelişimi üzerinde etkilerinin sınırlı olduğunu ancak çeşitlerin ve göz düzeylerinin incelenen özellikler üzerinde mutlak bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Genel olarak Red Globe çeşidinden alınan çeliklerle elde edilen bitkilerin vejetatif gelişimleri, incelenen diğer çeşitlere göre daha iyi bulunmuştur. Anaçlardan 1103P anacı çelik randımanını, 110R ise genç bitkilerde kök yaş ve kuru ağırlığını arttırması bakımından diğerinden daha iyi bulunmuştur. Bununla birlikte bağlardan çoğaltma için alınacak odun çeliklerinin, çubukların 7. ile 12. göz düzeyleri ve bunlar arasında kalan diğer göz düzeylerini içerecek şekilde alınmasının daha uygun olduğu belirlenmiştir.
