Content based image retrieval is an active research issue that had been famous from 1990s till present. The main target of CBIR is to get accurate results with lower computational time. This paper discusses on the comparative method used in color histogram based on two major methods used frequently in CBIR which are; normal color histogram using GLCM, and color histogram using KMeans. A set of 9960 images are used to test the accuracy and the precision of each methods. Using Euclidean distance, similarity between queried image and the candidate images are calculated. Experiment results shows that color histogram with K-Means method had high accuracy and precise compared to GLCM. Future work will be made to add more features that are famous in CBIR which are texture, color, and shape features in order to get better results.
In blood cell image analysis, segmentation is crucial step in quantitative cytophotometry. Blood cell images have become particularly useful in medical diagnostics tools for cases involving blood. In this paper, we present a better approach on merging segmentation algorithms of K-means and Median-cut for colour blood cells images. Median-cut technique will be employed after comparing best outcomes from Fuzzy c-means, Kmeans and Means-shift. We used blood cell images infected with malaria parasites as cell images for our research. The result of proposed method shows better improvement in terms of object segmentations for further feature extraction process.
The paper attempts to describe about designing and developing an android-based mobile application for home services. The application focuses on clients and service providers. The clients who are the target audiences while the service providers are the workers that can give the services locally. The main objective of this development is to create a mobile application called Savior. The first part of the tasks concerned on the analysis and design phases which include interface design, navigation plan, information architecture, storyboard and contents. The second part discussed the challenge in producing the application as intended and outlined several future development approaches. This application attracts users who are looking for service providers and for those looking for a platform to offer their skills, knowledge or any related services. Through this application, users are connected to credible and professional local service providers. Users are also accessed to the best and vocational services like cleaning, plumbing, event catering, interior painting and many more easily. After that, service providers are getting paid to do the work they like or good at using their exceptional skills. In the long term, this application may yield a win-win situation among the users. For example, users can get help when they need any assistance while service providers can earn flexibly on this application. In this project, the developers have learnt how to optimise the application to be more interesting to attract people.
-Image segmentation is an important phase in image recognition system. In medical imaging such as blood cell analysis, it becomes a crucial step in quantitative cytophotometry. Currently, blood cell images become predominantly valuable in medical diagnostics tools. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis on several segmentation algorithms. Three selected common approaches, that are Fuzzy c-means, K-means and Mean-shift were presented. Blood cell images that are infected with malaria parasites at various stages were tested. The most suitable method that is K-means was selected. K-means has been enhanced by integrating Median-cut algorithm to further improve the segmentation process. The proposed integrated method has shown a significant improvement in the number of selected regions.
n-butanol and iso-butanol are commonly produced by the hydrogenation of n-butyraldehyde and iso-butyraldehyde employing the patented copper catalyst accommodated in the reactors in series. The main cause of the lower n-butanol and iso-butanol yield was due to the catalyst blockage rendering a pressure build-up that could lead to a plant shut down. Bypassing the last reactor from the series could be a potential solution to continue running the plant until the next shutdown plan to replace catalyst. The study adopted simulation approach using Aspen Plus V10 to investigate the effect of bypassing the last reactor in the series to the product purity of the downstream separation processes. The iso-butanol and n-butanol with the desired purity were produced from the distillate and bottom product when the column was operated at the RR of 8.03 and DF of 0.328. The reaction conversion of R-102 was varied from 0.1-0.995 but the variation did not significantly change the composition of the main product. Hence, the present study affirmed that the bypassing of third reactor from the reactor train would not affect the product purity of the main product, n-butanol.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
