The protective forests in the Taitung Forest Park, Taiwan, are studied to explore the potential recreational benefits in the year 2014. First, the importance performance analysis and stepwise discriminant analysis are first adopted to analyze the relationship between the tourist satisfaction and environmental factors. The contingent valuation method and Tobit regression model are then applied to evaluate the benefits of protective forests. It shows that the willingness to pay price for entrance to the Taitung Forest Park is NT$21.7 for each person. Note that US$1 is around NT$30. The Taitung Forest Park creates a recreational value of NT$12,732,120 per year on average. The research outcomes are crucial for the Taitung Forest Park Administration Office for potential price-making in the future.
In this research, the ammonia micro-gas sensor is developed by micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. A suspended micro-heater is also integrated on the same chip to provide the optimal operating temperature during sensing. The main processing steps of the implemented micro-sensor in this study involve five photolithographic and seven thin-film deposition processes. In addition, in order to reduce the heat loss of the heater, this study uses anisotropic wet etching of MEMS technology to create a suspension structure that can reduce the heat conduction of silicon. Finally, tungsten trioxide is used as a sensing film to measure the variation of resistance. The chip size of the proposed micro ammonia sensor developed in this paper is 5 mm × 5 mm. At the concentration of 5 ppm ammonia, the sensing response can reach 252%, and the response time is 30 s. The lowest detection limit reaches 40 ppb. In summary, the micro-ammonia gas sensor with a micro-heater developed in this paper has the advantages of high response value, low detection limit and small size.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
