Strength and Weakness in Adolescence with Disability at Jakarta and Surakarta Education Foundation of Disability Children (YPAC). Children with disability face the barriers due to their incapacity and various obstacles from their society. How to cope with the barriers that came from themselves due to physical imperfection, emotional instability, and obstacles from the environment will affect to their mental health. The Medical assessment to find out the strengths and difficulties of teenagers are intended to take early intervention and an effort to improve the mental and personality development of teenagers with disabilities. This research was conducted to find out about the description of disabled adolescence's characteristic profile on strength and weakness that related to adolescence mentality at school for the disabled. The cross-sectional study was conducted at YPAC Jakarta and Surakarta in the period of June-October 2017. This research was conducted with 100 respondents from YPAC, 20 people from Jakarta and 80 people from Surakarta. The qualification of the respondents were adolescences with a range of age 11-18 years old, adolescents with limb and or vision disability that capable to communicate, and agree to be respondents. The study results showed that there were 27% children whose 11-12 years old, 24% whose 13-14 years old, 28% whose 15-16 years old, 21% whose 17-18 years old. The respondents were males 58% and females 42%. This research has successfully explained that Most of the difficulty level of adolescents with disabilities found in YPAC Jakarta and Surakarta were normal level (79%), and most of the level of strength were also normal level (89%). Suggestions for all parties related to disability adolescents as an effort to maintain mental health and not late to intervene.Abstrak: Kekuatan dan Kesulitan Remaja Disabilitas di Yayasan Pendidikan Anak Cacat (YPAC) Jakarta dan YPAC Surakarta. Anak-anak penyandang disabilitas menghadapi tantangan-tantangan lain akibat ketidakmampuan mereka dan berbagai rintangan yang dihadirkan oleh masyarakat mereka sendiri. Cara merespon banyaknya tantangan dari dalam diri remaja disabilitas karena ketidaksempurnaan fisik maupun ketidakstabilan emosi yang dimiliki serta rintangan yang muncul dari lingkungan akan memengaruhi kesehatan mental remaja disabilitas. AbstrakMasa remaja merupakan masa transisi dari masa kanak-kanak menuju masa dewasa yang ditandai oleh perubahan fisik, intelektual, seksual, dan emosional. Menarche pada remaja putri menjadi pertanda memasuki tahapan sistem reproduksi dewasa. Sesuai dengan nilai dan budaya masyarakat, peristiwa menstruasi pertama yang fisiologis itu mendapat respons yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan kerangka teoritis tentang pola perilaku remaja putri dalam menghadapi menarche sesuai dengan nilai dan budaya keluarga Batak di Jakarta. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan grounded theory dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi literatur. Enam orang informan direkrut dengan cara purposive sampling di wilayah Jakarta Timur. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan constant comparative analysis sampai tercapai saturasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku remaja putri menghadapi menarche sesuai dengan nilai dan budaya Batak di Jakarta dipengaruhi oleh informasi yang diterima, pola asuh dalam keluarga, dan pandangan orangtua terhadap menarche. Oleh sebab itu, perawat diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi yang komprehensif kepada remaja tentang proses perkembangan reproduksi dan perawatan saat menarche dengan mengikutsertakan orang tua dalam pemberian pendidikan kesehatan pada anak. Background: Children are a very large group of people and have a high prevalence of dental caries. This is related to the correct tooth brushing behavior data which is 2.8% every day. Dental health promotion is an effort to increase children's knowledge whose success cannot be separated from the method of education and the role of the media. Pop-up book is one of the three-dimensional visual media that can be an alternative as a learning medium. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of pop up book media on increasing dental health knowledge of elementary school children. Methods: Pre-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling as many as 64 children, consisting of 32 children in the intervention group and 32 children in the control group. The study was conducted at SDN 03 Cilandak Timur, South Jakarta from September to October 2021. The variable influence on the intervention group was pop up book media and the control group was flipchart media while the affected variable was dental health knowledge. The research instrument used a questionnaire about dental health. Data analysis used the SPSS program with the Paired Sample Test to compare the knowledge scores before and after the intervention and the independent t-test to compare the difference in knowledge scores between the intervention group and the control group. Results: The results of the Paired Sample Test on knowledge in the intervention group obtained p = 0.000 and in the control group was p = 0.182. The results of the independent t-test were obtained p = 0.000. Conclusion: Pop up book media is effective in increasing the dental health knowledge of elementary school children.
