Governance perspective appears as a solution to the limitations of the government’s concept. The development of increasingly smart technologies makes the concept of ‘smart’ not only applied to a variety of devices, but also to various systems and orders. So that management changes by linking information technology in government organizations are needed. This effort is considered effective to improve government performance, especially in public services. This research using qualitative methods. This aims of this research is to find out how management changes of the Magelang City as a smart city and to find out whether are all components of both the government environmental and the communities are ready for the existence of smart city. The results of this research are management changes of Magelang City as smart city has begun. That is can be analyzed in the form of framework thinking changes, changing the structure, re-empowerment, and renewal. Readiness of the government of Magelang City is already exist to confront as smart city, but it still needs more improvement. Therefore, in the implementation of smart city program, the government of Magelang City should encourage socialization to the society that there is a form of public service through utilize information technology and carry out deliberations on it to stakeholders in order to create cooperation to realize the actual concept of smart city in Magelang City.
The government organized a Community Based Total Sanitation Program (STBM) to change people's hygiene behavior. However, the awareness to create a sanitation system according to Clean and Healthy Living Standards and Behaviors is still low. Therefore, this research aims to see the awareness level of STBM program and factors that influence it. This research uses quantitative method through survey and qualitative method through interview. The results of this study indicate that the highest level of awareness on the five STBM pillars is at attitude level where the community supports the STBM program. Pillar 1: Stop Open Defecation by 88.07%, pillar 2: Washing Hands with Soap by 87.16%, pillar 3: Drinking Water and Household Food Management by 76.25%, pillar 4: Securing Household Waste by 61.70% and pillar 5: Safeguarding Home Liquid Waste Stairs by 62.06%. Meanwhile, the factors that influence them are knowledge, socioeconomic level, government commitment and program monitoring.
In the era of decentralization, local governments are getting the authority to regulate and manage the needs of their communities, including in the economic field. Local government are enabled to innovate policies. Local potency can be the basis for creating innovations in the form of policies at the local government level. Decentralization is also motivated by the uniqueness of every region of Indonesia which is very diverse in geographical and social conditions. Purbalingga District located at the foot of Mount Slamet, a volcano that is still active in the province of Central Java, saves its own potential. The rocks that come out of Mount Slamet have other features. This study aims to analyze the role of local government of Purbalingga District to support the agate craft and the factors that influencing the agate small enterprises policy. This research is conducted by using qualitative approach through a study of literature, review previous research, in-depth interviews and focus group discussion. This study finds that government of Purbalingga District has roles in agate craft development. The government as regulator, promoter and facilitator. There are factors that are influencing agate craft in Purbalingga. Trend, leadership, management skill of carfters and technology factors are influencing the growth of small enterprises of agate craft in Purbalingga District.
Magelang Regency is one of the areas prone to disasters. Disasters that often occur in this area are the eruption of Mount Merapi, cold lava floods, landslides, and strong winds. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Magelang Regency is an institution that has an important role in anticipating and overcoming disaster problems in this area. Performance management is very need for optimizing the main tasks and functions of the BPBD Magelang Regency. This study aims to analyze how the performance and the factors that influence the performance of BPBD Magelang Regency in disaster management. The method used in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, document studies, and literature studies. From this research, concluded that the performance of BPBD in carrying out disaster management in Magelang Regency is good in terms of productivity, responsiveness, and accountability. Factors that affect performance management in disaster management at the BPBD of Magelang Regency are human resources, funds, facilities, infrastructure, conditions, and public awareness. The implication of this research is BPBD Magelang Regency should maintain and improve its performance. BPBD of Magelang Regency is advised to complete the information listed on its platform so the accountability of this institution will increase.
The current modernization era and the development of electronic mass media has given birth to a shift in values, culture, and traditions of society, both in rural areas and especially in urban areas. The impact of this has given rise to very significant social changes in society, the impact of the good tradition of community groups at this time has been eroded by cultural acculturation and values that are at odds with the conditions and traditions of Indonesian society, including the culture of reciting after the evening prayer or regular prayers known as the evening recitation. The aim of this article is to focus on the implementation of Maghrib Mengaji. This research used a qualitative approach by literature study. The result of the research is Maghrib Mengaji is a part of the manifestation of Bandung Masagi, a religious education, national defense, culture and save the environment program. In the implementation, the Bandung City Government cannot conduct it alone. They need involve many community actors who could become a cooperative and interactive partnership. This research conclude that Maghrib Mengaji program was carried out well by professional and responsible networking actors. Further, this program recognized as a model for a pilot project for other regions in West Java Province.
