The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors that affect the decision of university female students to start a business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Most of the existing research focuses on exploring the challenges female entrepreneurs face after they start a business, but no research has investigated the challenges they encounter before they start a business. A total of 507 responses were collected from six universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Findings show that knowledge about starting a business is the most influential factor that motivates female students to establish their own business.
This paper aims to investigate a causal model of spiritual leadership theory in organisational context and evaluates the effectiveness of spiritual survival and empowerment on organisational outcomes in terms of commitment and citizenship behaviour. It used structural equation model (SEM) approach to test a conceptual framework with data collection of 329 full-time employees working in service industries in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The findings illustrated the critical effects of spiritual leadership on organisational outcomes throughout membership, empowerment, and personal characteristics regarding meaning and calling. Specifically, a qualitative approach was conducted to highlight the testing results and get a better understanding of unanticipated consequences from the quantitative analysis. Based on the findings, the study proposed some specific interests of managerial implications and identify some limitations for future study.
The awareness of brand image increasingly becomes great importance in students’ choices towards higher education institutions. This study aims to investigate factors of brand image which influence the choices of students in terms of postgraduate universities, the case of three universities in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC): International University HCMC, Economics University HCMC, University of Economics and Law HCMC. Focus group and paper-based techniques are applied to build questionnaire forming. The surveys of 450 samples would be collected by email survey technique. The qualitative method of factor analysis and ANOVA are used for this study. The results show the positive significance of human resource quality, program quality, infrastructure, cost and reputation of the universities to students’ choices. Besides, there is an influence between the type of job and students’ choices.
The global increase of urban solid waste in developing countries is creating highly significant challenges. There is a lack of research on sustainable waste management behavior (SWMB) among university academic staff. Hence, this study aims to examine the effect of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control on SWMB. This study employed the theory of planned behavior (TPB) as the underlying theory. This study’s sample consisted of 252 academic staff from the top three sustainable universities in Malaysia listed by the UiGreenMetric in 2018. The academic staff were surveyed by using an online and self-administered survey and analyzed by using PLS-SEMThe results showed that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control positively affect SWMB. This study makes significant contributions to both theory and practice. The study fills in the literature gap and supports the TPB theory. This study provides empirical evidence on the effect of main TPB variables, such as attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control on SWMB through a quantitative research approach, exploring all three of the 3Rs to study academic staff’s waste management behavior on campus. From the managerial perspective, this study’s results provide empirical evidence on factors that affect SWMB among academic staff. This information is crucial to managers and policymakers to plan strategies to engage academic staff with SWMB. Managers and policymakers should focus on conducting more campaigns on sustainable waste management for academic staff. The campaigns would enhance academic staff’s attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control towards practicing SWMB for a more sustainable campus in the future.
