One of the biggest problems in health is the evolution of resistance to several pyrethroids, which are used as an insecticide to combat mosquitoes, mainly due to selection pressure, giving as results the development of resistance in Aedes aegypti, for it,the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has reconsidered the use of existing natural resources in the territory of each affected country. Dysphania ambrosioides known as Ka'are, is a medicinal plant that is used in our country for its different properties, therefore the main objective of the work was to evaluate the larvicidal activity of the ethanolic extract of D. ambrosioides on larvae of two Aedes aegypti strains, Rockefeller strain and San Lorenzo strain. The responses to which both strains were exposed were: 0.01; 0.1; 0.5; one; 1.5; 2 mg. mL -1 for 24, 48 and 72 hours. The count of dead larvae was performed and analyzed by probit-logarithmic statistics for the determination of lethal results 50 (LC50), 70 (LC70) and 90 (LC90). The highest activity results for both strains were at 1; 1.5; 2 mg. mL -1 concentrations. The lethal concentrations LC50 and LC90 are between 0.5 and 1.2 mg. mL -1 for Rockefeller and between 0.9 mg. mL -1 and 5.5 mg. mL -1 for San Lorenzo strain.
