ABSTRACT Patients with previous myocardial infarction and stroke are the highest risk group for further coronary and cerebral events. myocardial infarction alters physical, psychosocial, spiritual well-being and adversely affects overall quality of life This study aimed to determine the effect of age and the quality of life among myocardial infarction patients. This study utilized descriptive correlational research with cross sectional approach. The study utilized set of instruments, an adapted instrument of MacNew Quality of Life After Myocardial Infarction (MacNew QLMI) questionnaire to measure the quality of life myocardial infarction. The results of this study were obtained middle age group were 66,7 %. Quality of life for physical domain has an average weighted mean of 4.51. the results of the data analysis using the Mann Whitney test were obtained emotional domain p=0,995 (p<0,05), physical domain p=0,624 (p<0,05), social domain p=0,191 (p<0,05). It means that the age does not influence the quality of life of patients with Myocardial Infarction. Keywords: Age, Quality of Life, Myocardial infarction
One way to lower blood pressure is using feet soaking therapy with warm water using a ginger aromatherapy. Soaking parts of the body into the warm water can improve circulation, reduce edema, and improve muscle relaxation, which leads to blood pressure drop. This study aimed to find out whether there is an effect of feet soaking with warm water using ginger aromatherapy to decrease blood pressure on hypertension patients. The method of this research was Quasi-experiment with pre-and post-test design with control group. The instrument used was a sphygmomanometer. This research was carried out for one week by providing therapy for 7 feet of warm water mixed with aromatherapy ginger every morning. The samples were taken using Purposive Sampling which resulted in 20 respondents. The statistical tests used were Wilxocon test and Mann Withney test. The results of this study indicated that the value of the Wilxocon test obtained systolic p-value = 0.004 and diastolic p-value = 0.002, H0 is rejected, while the Mann Withney test results obtained systolic p-value = 0.001 and diastolic p-value = 0.005 then H0 is rejected, which means that there is an effect of giving therapy of feet soaking with warm water using ginger aromatherapy to decrease blood pressure on hypertension patients. Therefore, this therapy can be used as a companion to medical therapy.
Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to insulin secretion, or both. The disorder causes abnormalities in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Purpose: To describe nursing care for skin/tissue integrity disorders in Mr. S with type II diabetes mellitus in the Ar Rahman room RSI Purwokerto. Method: Descriptive research design in the form of a case study with a nursing process approach consisting of assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nursing care was carried out to Mr. S for 3x24 hours. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, physical examination, and documentation. Results: The nursing evaluation which was carried out on June 16-18 2022 was carried out using the SOAP method, including subjectively the patient stating that his body was still weak, the wound had not healed and the pain had decreased. Objective, K/u: weak, GDS: 320mg/dl, a wound with a length of 3 cm and a width of 2 cm is visible, on the dressing there is seepage of liquid reddish yellow smelling and festering, the patient can tilt right and left, the total score of the BJWAT assessment increases from 28 to 29. Analysis, the problem not resolved, continue the intervention. Conclusion: Evaluation on the third day of tissue damage, skin damage, pain and redness has not been resolved.
Objective: This study aims to describe changes in pain in patients with 5 finger hypnotic non-pharmacological therapy. Method: This research is a case study that was conducted in March 2022 with an assessment guide instrument for data collection. Researchers used the nursing care process from the assessment stage to evaluation. Result: According to the results of the study, guided relaxation techniques for 3 days can reduce pain, from pain intensity on a scale of 5 to 4. Conclusion: The most felt and disturbing complaint of fracture patients is pain in the area around the wound/fracture with a scale of 5, pain like stabbing. Pain will be felt when the patient moves the fractured part. Non-pharmacological hypnotic therapy of 5 fingers within a period of 3 days is able to reduce the scale of pain felt in postoperative 5 finger digiti fracture patients.
