With the advent of multi-core platforms in embedded devices, there is a reviving interest in scheduling algorithms for multiprocessor real-time systems. Boundary fair (Bfair) is a optimal scheduling algorithm that can fully utilize all cores as the well-known Pfair scheduling algorithms. We proposed the early-release Bfair (ERBF) scheduler, which is a variant of Bfair scheduler, the difference is that ERBF is work conserving. To support the robustness to interactions with the physical environment, a novel task-interrupt coscheduling approach is added to ERBF scheduler. The evaluation results show that the extended ERBF scheduler performs better than original scheduler, making it more suitable for embedded real-time systems control tasks.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
