Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells PEMFC are the type of fuel cell with the broadest range of possible applications, ranging from power supply to electric drives to small scale grid independent power sources and residential CHP units. The technology has been intensively developed for more than two decades and the remaining R&D tasks focus on life time improvement and cost reduction. The following paper will give results on bipolar plate development for PEMFC.
