A method of constructing multiband filtering functions from single-band functions using rational reactance mapping functions is presented. The technique can be applied to coupled-resonator filters with N pass-bands, each of arbitrary bandwidth and centre frequency. The resulting filter topologies are simple to implement and do not introduce crosscouplings beyond that of the original low-pass prototype. V C 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
