This paper is the result of a series of reflections/concerns about the literary phenomenon and its theoretical implications. Beyond the discussion about some fundamental concepts for literary theory research, we bring here some brief considerations of the literary work in relation to its creative process, aesthetic perception and "fruition space", as Roland Barthes (1987) defines. Thus we conclude that modern literary theory goes to an inevitable way of metamorphosis, judging by the diversity of literary genres in contemporaneity and their interchangeable forms of expression.
