Plate-like heterogeneous NiO/WO₃ nanocomposites have been successfully prepared by annealing Ni(OH)₂ and H₂WO₄ in air. These NiO/WO₃ nanocomposites have shown excellent sensitivity towards NO₂ and ultrafast response at room temperature due to their p-n heterogeneous characteristics.

TiO 2 nanobelts/MoO 3 nanosheets (TM) heterostructure composites have 10 been synthesized via an in-situ growth method in which the TiO 2 -MoS 2 was used as 11 precursor. The whole fabrication process involved the preparation of MoS 2 12 nanoparticles modified TiO 2 nanobelts (TiO 2 Nbs) and subsequently transformation of 13 the MoS 2 to MoO 3 nanosheets. The properties of TM were characterized by XRD, 14 FE-SEM, TEM, EDX, DRS, FT-IR, XPS and PL, respectively. The photocatalytic 15 activity of TM was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B (Rh B) 16 aqueous solution under simulated sunlight irradiation. And its photoabsorption energy 17 (PE, the energy required to excite valence band electrons of TiO 2 nanobelts to 18 conduction band states of MoO 3 nanosheets (MoO 3 )) properties are related to the 19 physical and chemical interaction between TiO 2 Nbs and MoO 3 . The experimental 20 results showed that TM exhibited a much better photocatalytic activity than that of 21 pure TiO 2 , and showed an excellent recyclability property for its photocatalytic 22 applications.
