Kinder Stärken! -Resilienzförderung in der KindertageseinrichtungPraxis der Kinderpsychologie und Kinderpsychiatrie 57 (2008) This article focuses on first results of a prevention project dealing with the promotion of resilience in institutions of early childhood education (e.g. kindergarten). In four institutions with 278 children the early childhood educators are trained and the children themselves take part in a special training programme. Additionaly the parents are given the chance to participate in special courses and individual counselling, while the institutions are involved in networks with other institutions, e.g. for educational guidance. The process and the effects of the programme are evaluated in a control group design by qualitative and quantitative (standardised tests) methods. After a first project stage of six months interim findings show a positive response in all target groups.
