Klimawandel und Ressourcenverknappung sind die wesentlichen Herausforderungen unserer Zeit, denen sich auch der Massivbau stellen muss. In diesem Beitrag werden zunächst die Herausforderungen wie die stetige Zunahme der verwendeten Betonmenge, Treibhausgasemissionen und Ressourceneffizienz bei der Herstellung von Beton und die wachsende Baunachfrage in den Blick genommen. Mit Bezug zur Struktur des deutschen Bauwesens werden die stagnierende Arbeitsproduktivität als Indikator für ineffiziente Prozesse, das fragmentierte, wenig digitalisierte Planen und Bauen und das kleinteilige, kaum ganzheitlich betrachtete Vorgehen analysiert. Ausgehend von den Herausforderungen und der Analyse der Rahmenbedingungen werden erste Lösungsansätze aufgezeigt: die Planungsoptimierung auf Grundlage digitaler Bauwerksmodelle, die Erhöhung der Effizienz von Betonbauteilen sowie die verlängerte Nutzung von Bestandsbauwerken. Ziel ist es, Beispiele für notwendige Veränderungen aufzuzeigen, ohne den Anspruch auf ein vollständiges oder abschließendes Bild für den klimafreundlichen und ressourceneffizienten Massivbau zu haben.
Der Beton- und Stahlbetonbau nutzt heute in Deutschland überwiegend natürliche Ausgangsstoffe aus endlichen Primärressourcen, obwohl der Bausektor aufgrund seines hohen Abfallaufkommens von in Deutschland jährlich 3,7 t pro Einwohner (2018) [1] für geschlossene Stoffkreisläufe geeignet wäre. Um die Kreislaufwirtschaft im Beton- und Stahlbetonbau zu fördern, wurde im Rahmen des internationalen EU-Verbundforschungsprojektes „Secondary Raw Materials for Precast Concrete Construction“ (kurz SeRaMCo) in den Jahren 2017 bis 2021 die Umsetzung der Kreislaufwirtschaft für die Anwendung im Betonfertigteilbau mit hohem Praxisbezug entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette untersucht. Forschungsschwerpunkte der beteiligten europäischen Vertreter aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und öffentlicher Hand waren dabei die Aufbereitung von Bauschutt, die Herstellung von Zement aus Brechsanden sowie die Produktion von Betonfertigteilen aus rezykliertem Splitt und Zement. Zur Demonstration der industriellen Umsetzbarkeit wurden zahlreiche Produkte unter Einbeziehung der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette hergestellt und abschließend mit dem Bau von Pilotbauwerken im öffentlichen Raum auch baulich umgesetzt.
Durch den steigenden Sanierungsbedarf von Straßenbrücken in Deutschland kommt der Planung für deren Erhalt und Neubau eine wachsende Bedeutung zu. Je genauer die vorhandenen Kenntnisse über die Einwirkungen sind, desto präziser können Prognosen der Lebensdauer eines Bauwerks sein. Dies trifft nicht nur im Brückenbau zu, auch im Automobilwesen werden im Zuge der Fahrzeugoptimierung detaillierte, zeitlich veränderliche Achslasten gemessen und simuliert. Einen besonderen Einfluss auf die ermittelten Achslasten hat die Fahrbahnqualität. Unter Verwendung dieser Daten und Simulationsmethoden ergibt sich für das Bauwesen die Fragestellung nach einem möglichen Zusammenhang zwischen Fahrbahnqualität und Lebensdauer einer Straßenbrücke. Durch höhere Anforderungen an die Fahrbahnqualität im Bereich von Brücken könnten dynamische Lasten reduziert und aufwendige Sanierungen des Tragwerks vermieden oder verzögert werden. Zur Untersuchung eines möglichen Zusammenhangs wird im Folgenden ein Vorgehen zur Bestimmung des Einflusses der Fahrbahnqualität auf die Lebensdauer von Straßenbrücken vorgestellt. Hierfür werden realitätsnahe Fahrbahnoberflächen generiert und dazu verwendet, an einem gekoppelten Bauwerk‐Fahrzeug‐System vereinfachte Achs‐ und Fahrzeugmodelle durch Fußpunktanregung in Schwingung zu versetzen. Die zeitlich veränderlichen Schnittgrößen des Bauwerks können darauf aufbauend rückgerechnet und auf ihr Schädigungspotenzial hin analysiert werden. Diese Methodik wird abschließend anhand eines Beispiels veranschaulicht. Es kann gezeigt werden, dass in diesem Fall ein deutlicher Zusammenhang zwischen Fahrbahnqualität und Lebensdauer erkennbar wird.
