Diabetes mellitus is a pathology characterized by dysfunction in the pancreas in the production of insulin, also with regard to the resistance of the body's cells in the uptake of the hormone. Thus, physical activity and dietary education provide the individual with a healthy life by regulating blood glucose levels, reducing future complications arising from the pathology, promoting a healthy and lasting life. The general objective of this work is to discuss, based on the available scientific literature, the benefits of physical activity and healthy eating in promoting the health of people with Diabetes mellitus. Therefore, the methodology used was an integrative bibliographical review, which aimed to search for common practices arranged in the organization of articles in a synoptic table, for the realization of new practices in the field of health. Four (04) categories were listed with the following titles: the concept of Diabetes mellitus; causes and consequences of Diabetes mellitus; promotion of health and quality of life; nurse's relationship with health promotion in Diabetes mellitus. The strategy of physical activity and healthy eating are put into practice in order to improve the living condition of the Diabetes mellitus patient, listed by the health professional, providing the individual's survival, reducing the number of complications, such as the sudden increase in blood glucose (hyperglycemia) or even hypoglycemia. It was found that group activities and individual consultations, addressing the themes of physical activity and food education, reduced the percentage of glycated hemoglobin, helped in maintaining body weight, reducing complications of the disease, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and improving mental health.
