Phytoremediation is a technique that uses plants to recover contaminated soils. This method has advantages because of its permanent nature, combined with low maintenance costs, protection against wind and water erosion and greater soil structure. Currently, most of the researches related to species capable of phytoremediation of soil contaminated with metals work with annual cycle plant species. However, due to limitations found in these species, the possibility of using forest species in phytoremediation programs is increasingly projected. Be suitable for revegetation of contaminated areas and also provide economic return. The purpose of this review was to present the main techniques of phytoremediation used and to analyze the perspectives of the use of forest species in phytoremediation programs. The reports in the literature point out several of these species with real capacity of use, in addition they have been pointed as tolerant to soils in stages of great contamination, and their capacity of fixation of contaminant in their structures for a longer time in relation to vegetal species of annual cycle. The limiting factor in the full use of these species is still the small number of researches, which consequently causes many effective species to no longer be identified for phytoremediation.
A qualidade dos cavacos usados na produção de celulose é considerada um fator importante para operabilidade da indústria e para a qualidade da polpa. Os cavacos desejáveis são aqueles que apresentam poucas variações nas características físicas e químicas, isentos de contaminantes, alta densidade a granel, impregnação homogênea, baixa degradação de polissacarídeos e alto rendimento na transformação em polpa celulósica. Na indústria a classificação do tamanho dos cavacos passou a ser adotada depois que estudos demonstraram que os cavacos muito grandes e/ou muito pequenos poderiam interferir no processo de deslignificação e na qualidade da polpa celulósica. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar as dimensões e qualidade de um cavaco para polpação.
Currently, with the rationalization of consumption of raw materials due to energy constraints and possible damage to the environment , it has tried to maximize their employability . The forestry - wood sector is largely responsible for the generation of waste , which must be allocated appropriately to not lead to environmental damage. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the acoustical panels made of plaster embedded with cellulose fibers from a pulp and paper company of the Paulista West . The evaluation was made based on the sound absorption material, resulting in sound absorption coefficients at around X, according to values found in literature.
RESUMOAtualmente, está cada vez mais evidente a necessidade da caracterização e compreensão da organização do espaço e as suas interações com diferentes cenários ambientais e, para isso, é preciso identificar e mapear o estado de uso e ocupação do solo de determinada área, destacando-se assim a utilização dos Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIG). Este artigo apresenta a utilização do SIG IDRISI Selva como ferramenta para a identificação e quantificação dos conflitos de uso e ocupação do solo em Áreas de Preservação Permanente na microbacia hidrográfica do córrego da Água Amarela, localizado em Itaberá (SP). Como resultados, enfatiza-se a importância desse tipo de mapeamento para o monitoramento ambiental bem como a preservação da mesma. Palavras-chave: Microbacia hidrográfica. IDRISI. ABSTRACTCurrently, it is increasingly evident the need for characterization and understanding of the organization of space and its interactions with different environmental scenarios and, therefore, is to identify and map the state of land use and occupancy of an area, highlighting so the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This paper presents the use of GIS IDRISI Selva as a tool for identification and quantification of conflicts of use and occupation of land in permanent preservation areas in the catchment of the stream of the Yellow Water, located in Itaberá (SP). As a result, it is emphasized the importance of this type of mapping for environmental monitoring and the preservation thereof.
