Abstract-Agriculture sector in Vietnam is not only affected by climate change but it also emits a high proportion of greenhouse gas (GHG) -especially rice, which is the main source of GHG emissions in this sector. Many GHG mitigation options have been transferred to rice cultivation in the world with biochar measure, compost measure and applying Alternative Wet and Dry (AWD) measures having high potential to reducing GHG emissions. This study assesses the co-benefits of greenhouse gas emission mitigation options above in comparison with traditional farmers' practice (applying flooding irrigation (PF) in combination with farmyard manure fertilizer (FYM)) to find a climate-smart agriculture system for Vietnam ensuring both economic benefits and maintain Global Warming Potential. Therefore, a field experiment was conducted in Hanoi city, located in Northwest Vietnam. The experiment was divided into two blocks with different water regimes: AWD and PF. Each block was designed with four different types of fertilizer: 1) NPK (i.e. irorganic fertilizer) only; 2) NPK and FYM; 3) NPK and straw compost; and 4) NPK and straw biochar. The result showed that rice yield was significantly different among mitigation treatments compared to traditional farming practise. In addition, the block with AWD irrigation method and NPK+ straw biochar fertilizer showed potential to mitigate GHG emissions significantly with 53.4% CO 2 eq per grain yield reduction compared to traditional farmers' practice. Furthermore, this mitigation option also helped to save 43.24% of water irrigation, increase soil fertilit and reuse Vietnam's agricultural residue.Index Terms-Rice paddy field, biochar, compost, AWD, climate-smart agriculture system.
Abstract. There are different categorifications of the notion of a ring such as Ann-category due to N. T. Quang, ring category due to M. M. Kapranov and V. A. Voevodsky. The main result of this paper is to prove that every axiom in the definition of a ring category, but the axiom x 0 = y 0 , can be deduced from the axiomatics of an Ann-category.
This paper examines the abnormal returns in merger withdrawals in Australia, especially distinguishing the market response between private and public targets. We also study the determinants of those abnormal returns, including the method of payment and the impact of financial crisis periods. Using the event study method, we document that in the Australian context, the announced withdrawal of mergers involving private targets creates significantly negative valuation effects in comparison with the valuation effects in withdrawal of mergers involving public targets. We also find that a financial crisis period strongly affects abnormal returns of merger withdrawals. However, the method of payment does not have any impact on the abnormal returns.
The paper examines impact the world crude oil price (WCOP) on the real effective exchange rates (REER) based on empirical evidences from Vietnam in the period from 1986 to 2019. It includes five parts. Section 1 introduces research issues. Section 2 presents an overview of the research on the relationship between the WCOP and the REER. Section 3 describes the data and research methods. In Section 4, we use the autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDLM) to study the impact of the WCOP on the REER of Vietnam. In this paper, we introduce the Parallel iteration of two-step Runge-Kutta methods for solving non-stiff initial-value problems for systems of first-order differential equations (ODEs): y′(t) = f(t, y(t)), for use on parallel computers. Starting with an s−stage implicit two-step Runge-Kutta (TSRK) method of order p, we apply the highly parallel predictor-corrector iteration process in P (EC)mE mode. In this way, we obtain an explicit two-step Runge-Kutta method that has order p for all m, and that requires s(m+1) right-hand side evaluations per step of which each s evaluation can be computed parallelly. By a number of numerical experiments, we show the superiority of the parallel predictor-corrector methods proposed in this paper over both sequential and parallel methods available in the literature.
