The equilibrium vaporization reactions

have been studied by mass‐loss effusion in the temperature range 1237–1401 K. The results were combined with published calorimetric data for nickel‐rich samples and static phosphorus‐dissociation pressure data for phosphorus‐rich samples, with consideration of the requirements of the published phase diagram, to obtain enthalpies of formation (from red P),
