A pandemia da COVID-19 e as medidas sanitárias necessárias para a contenção do vírus modificaram códigos sociais, prioridades e o modo de fazer política. Partindo do pressuposto da importância da materialidade para a política e elucidando a relação simbiótica entre instituição e território, este artigo busca analisar os impactos que a pandemia trouxe no funcionamento da Câmara Legislativa de Cavalcante (GO), aqui entendida como um espaço político exclusivo. Como metodologia foi feita uma análise da produção legislativa em Cavalcante, uma revisão bibliográfica acerca das relações entre espaço e democracia, uma aquisição de dados sobre a gestão política e a infraestrutura municipal, além de entrevistas com vereadores e funcionários da Câmara. A restrição ao espaço político revelou a imprescindibilidade de espaços voltados para deliberações com abertura e incentivo sistemático à participação popular, especialmente em um município que não possui infraestrutura para a realização das atividades do legislativo de maneira remota.
