Em razão das influências da idade e do clone na qualidade da madeira de Eucalyptus para a produção de bioenergia, torna-se importante desenvolver pesquisas para aprimorar e selecionar materiais genéticos para essa finalidade. Diante disso, os objetivos deste trabalho foram: verificar a influência da idade e do clone na qualidade da madeira de Eucalyptus para a produção de bioenergia e realizar a avaliação não destrutiva das árvores com o equipamento denominado Pilodyn ® , visando à determinação das densidades básica e energética. Foram amostrados quatro clones de Eucalyptus spp em duas idades (55 e 67 meses). Determinaram-se as características dendrométricas das árvores, enquanto que, na madeira, foram quantificadas as densidades básica e energética, e determinados os teores dos componentes químicos elementares, moleculares e minerais, bem como o poder calorífico superior. O clone 3335 apresentou destaque para as características dendrométricas avaliadas nas duas idades e entre clones. Para esse clone, observou-se maior valor da densidade básica na idade de 67 meses. O teor de hidrogênio e a densidade energética da madeira não foram influenciados pela idade. Observou-se acréscimo dos teores de extrativos totais, lignina total e oxigênio na madeira com a idade e decréscimo do teor de carbono e cinzas. Para a produção de carvão vegetal, recomenda-se a utilização do clone 3335 na idade de 67 meses em virtude das características dendrométricas e dos valores de densidade básica e lignina total. Observou-se relação significativa entre a penetração do pino do Pilodyn ® e as densidades básica e energética, com destaque para os modelos ajustados para as árvores na idade de 67 meses.
