Đặt vấn đề: Rau Càng cua (Peperomia pellucida) là một loài thực vật thuộc họ Hồ tiêu (Piperaceae) từ lâu đã được sử dụng làm thực phẩm và dược phẩm. Các nghiên cứu trên thế giới đã chứng minh rau Càng cua sở hữu rất nhiều tác dụng dược lý như khả năng kháng khuẩn, kháng nấm, chống oxy hóa, kháng viêm, giảm đau, chống ung thư, hạ cholesterol, và làm lành xương nhưng chưa được nghiên cứu nhiều ở Việt Nam. Vì vậy, đề tài này có thể xem là một bước tiến quan trọng cho việc mở rộng nghiên cứu, phân lập các hợp chất tinh khiết cũng như đánh giá các tác dụng dược lý có ích của rau Càng cua mọc tại Việt Nam. Mục tiêu nghiên cứu: Đánh giá tác dụng kháng nấm, kháng khuẩn của cao chiết rau Càng cua từ các dung môi khác nhau. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Cao chiết rau Càng cua (Peperomia pellucida) từ dung môi nước, ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetat; Sử dụng phương pháp ngấm kiệt với tỷ lệ dược liệu/dung môi 1:8, tốc độ rút dịch chiết là 1 mL/phút để chiết xuất cao đặc rau Càng cua, tiến hành xác định khả năng kháng nấm của cao chiết rau Càng cua trên chủng vi nấm Candida albicans và Aspergillus niger, xác định khả năng kháng khuẩn trên chủng vi khuẩn Escherichia coli và Staphylococcus aureus bằng phương pháp khuếch tán trong thạch. Kết quả: Đường kính vòng kháng vi khuẩn Staphylococcus aureus trong dung môi ethyl acetat ở nồng độ 200 mg/mL là 14 mm, ở nồng độ 100 mg/mL là 11 mm, trong các thử nghiệm còn lại ghi nhận đường kính vòng kháng nấm, kháng khuẩn bao gồm cả đường kính lỗ là 8 mm (không có hoạt tính kháng). Kết luận: Cao chiết rau Càng cua trong các dung môi nước, ethanol, ethyl acetat, methanol không có khả năng kháng nấm Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans và vi khuẩn Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus.
