INTRODUÇÃOFoi decretado no dia 11 de março de 2020, pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), uma pandemia da doença associada ao vírus SARS-Cov-2, popularmente conhecida como coronavírus . Desde então, diversos estudos têm sido realizados a fim de compreender seus aspectos fisiopatológicos e complicações. Observa-se que os pacientes relatam principalmente sintomas respiratórios, no entanto, outras repercussões clínicas também podem estar presentes, como cardiovasculares, renais, neurológicas e psiquiátricas (BRASIL, 2021). Ademais, dentro do contexto dos efeitos da COVID-19, as manifestações neurológicas têm sido alvo de crescentes pesquisas (ELLUL et al., 2020).O SARS-Cov-2 depende de determinados receptores disponíveis no organismo humano para invadir as células e realizar o processo fisiopatológico que irá desencadear uma gama de sintomas, sendo o receptor ACE2, presente no sistema nervoso, uma das hipóteses para explicar os mecanismos de repercussões neurológicas (CHEN et al., 2020).Dentre as manifestações neurológicas da COVID-19, destacam-se tanto sintomas mais relacionados a infecção, por exemplo, encefalite, Guillan-Barré e meningite, quanto também outras repercussões como: cefaleias, alteração de níveis de consciência, anosmia e eventos cerebrovasculares (ELLUL et al, 2020).Diante do avanço do COVID-19 em escala mundial e dos efeitos neurológicos negativos na saúde dos indivíduos infectados, são necessárias mais pesquisas acerca das consequências a curto e longo prazo dessa doença, haja a reduzida quantidade de estudo que aborda tal temática. Assim, este estudo tem como objetivo compreender como a COVID-19 afetou a nível neurológico os indivíduos recuperados da infecção. METODOLOGIATrata-se de um estudo bibliográfico de caráter integrativo e com abordagem quantitativa. Marconi e Lakatos (2010) afirmam que a revisão de literatura baseia-se na identificação, compilação e análise de diversas fontes (livros, dissertações, revistas, etc), nos quais a presença de diferentes argumentos são analisados pelo pesquisador, com o objetivo de conseguir uma visão ampla do estado da arte de determinada temática na comunidade científica.Na etapa de pesquisa nas bases de dados, foram utilizados os descritores, baseados no DeCS (Descritores em Ciências da Saúde): "consequências", "neurológicas" e "COVID-19" e o conector "and". As bases de dados utilizadas foram PubMed, Scielo, BVS, Cochrane e Embase. Utilizou-se como critério de inclusão artigos publicados há no máximo PRINCIPAIS REFERÊNCIAS CAGNAZZO, F. et al. INTRODUÇÃO: Mortes evitáveis são definidas como aquelas causas de óbitos cuja ocorrência está estritamente ligada à intervenção médica. Mundialmente, doenças cardiovasculares representam a principal causa de morte evitável. Assim, é essencial identificar as categorias primárias de letalidade cardiovasculares, a fim de preveni-las. OBJETIVOS: Analisar o perfil de mortalidade por causas evitáveis no Estado do Maranhão em um sexênio, comparando-os com dados do Brasil. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de um estudo ecológico, descritivo, analítico, de abordagem quantitativa. Coletou-se dados secundários na plataforma DATASUS, concernentes aos óbitos por causas cardiovasculares evitáveis no Estado do Maranhão. A população de cada microrregião maranhense foi obtida através de estimativas do IBGE. Os dados foram tabulados no Microsoft Excel e analisados por estatísticas descritivas e inferenciais no software SPSS 25.0 for Windows, no qual foi utilizado o teste qui-quadrado, adotando-se um nível de significância de 5%. RESULTADOS: Constatou-se que as microrregiões maranhenses com maior taxa de mortalidade de pessoas entre 5 a 74 anos de 2015 a 2020 são Gurupi e Pindaré-Mirim, com 83,94 e 84,82 mortes a cada mil habitantes, respectivamente. Nas demais microrregiões, essa taxa é inferior a 22%. No Maranhão, a principal causa de morte evitável do aparelho circulatório refere-se ao infarto agudo do miocárdio (IAM), com 1600 mortes a cada 1 milhão de habitantes no sexênio estudado, seguida por acidente vascular cerebral (AVC) com 687 e hipertensão essencial (HE) com 323. Durante o mesmo período analisado, essa sucessão de causas também foi observada no Brasil, o qual apresentou 1596 mortes por IAM a cada 1 milhão de habitantes, 439 por AVC e 337 por HE. Verificou-se que os óbitos por causas evitáveis (IAM e outras causas) são significativamente diferentes em relação às variáveis raça, sexo, escolaridade e local de ocorrência, sendo p < 0,001. Houve predomínio de mortes na população parda, sexo masculino, com um ano ou mais de escolaridade e no ambiente hospitalar. CONCLUSÕES: Conclui-se, portanto, que IAM constitui a principal causa de morte evitável, tanto no Maranhão, quanto a nível nacional. Isso revela a necessidade de o sistema de saúde brasileiro desenvolver ações mais eficazes de educação em saúde para reduzir as elevadas taxas de óbitos preveníveis.
