A escoliose idiopática é uma condição ortopédica comum que afeta pessoas, a estrutura músculo esquelética em diferentes idades, estatística em crianças e adolescentes têm inúmeros impactos não apenas físicos, mas também, sociais e psicológicos, assim, buscase intervenções alternativas às tradicionais, no entanto, buscam resultados melhores do que os tratamentos fisioterápicos. Este artigo objetivou verificar os principais efeitos e benefícios sobre a escoliose idiopática de adolescentes durante a intervenção do método de Pilates. Quanto aos métodos para a elaboração deste, buscou-se uma revisão de literatura, qualitativa, de caráter descritivo, a partir de documentos secundários para o alcance do objetivo. Observou-se a partir dos resultados que em geral, as intervenções diversas beneficiam os portadores de escoliose, quanto ao Pilates, demonstrou entre outros benefícios, os psicológicos quanto a autoestima e imagem corporal, possibilitando obter melhores resultados se intervenções tradicionais forem associadas a tratamentos alternativos.
