The publishing market has undergone several transformations caused by digital information and communication technologies, which have boosted new models of production, edition and circulation of works, among which self-publishing itself and more recently digital self-publishing platforms. Although not a new phenomenon in the history of books and publishing, in the digital context, self-publishing has acquired new dimensions and characteristics, such as the use of platforms that concentrate a set of structures in the same environment to operate the creative and editorial processes. In countries such as the USA, England, Spain, studies on self-publishing have focused on issues such as: the legitimacy of works, the typology of authors, the merit and quality of publications, as well as the role of authors and editors in this context (
