Abnormal conditions in the upper abdomen which may occur after resection of the stomach for peptic ulcer may be considered under several heads. A detailed investigation into the occurrence and frequency of gastro-jejunal ulcers would be outside the scope of this paper. Occasionally, during the past five years, we have observed severe haemorrhage following gastric resection, but on no occasion was there demonstrable radiological evidence of ulcer. It was noted that the patients rarely complained of pain.
