A pandemia por COVID 19 desencadeou aceleradas transformações na atenção à saúde e exprimiu as fragilidades presentes nas relações das organizações assistenciais. Considerando-se o aumento da demanda e consequente queda da oferta de medicamentos no período pandêmico, é percebida uma necessidade do uso de ferramentas que auxilie os centros de saúde na gestão de seus estoques. Assim, a curva ABC de Pareto se apresenta como uma ferramenta fundamental, baseando-se na importância dos itens, quantidades utilizadas e o seus valores. Este artigo tem como objetivo demonstrar a aplicação da curva ABC para a gestão de medicamentos em uma farmácia hospitalar de um hospital privado localizado em uma cidade do interior da Bahia. Foram elaboradas três curvas ABC de Pareto considerando-se dados dos anos de 2019, 2020 e 2021 de maneira que se utilizaram dados anteriores e correntes da pandemia. Percebeu-se então que houve variação especialmente entre os itens da Classe A já que durante a pandemia, os relaxantes musculares, anestésicos e sedativos que compõem o chamado "kit intubação" e os medicamentos de combate a infecções pulmonares figuraram entre os maiores custos percentuais da farmácia hospitalar, representando ainda grande impacto no estoque com elevadas proporções de SKU (Stock Keeping Unit). Foi notável ainda um aumento expressivo no valor de certas medicações, o que impactou diretamente o custo anual total em medicamentos da farmácia hospitalar. Foi possível então afirmar que a pandemia causou impactos financeiros na CAF do hospital, e que tais efeitos poderiam ser minimizados com a adoção dos métodos administrativos apresentados.
