Bu çalışmada çekme yüklemesi altında çoklu çatlak davranışı sergileyen lifli kompozitlerin birim şekil değiştirmeleri geleneksel deformasyon ölçer (LVDT) ve dijital görüntü korelasyonu (DIC) yöntemiyle incelenerek kıyaslanmıştır. DIC yönteminde ışık etkisi (kontrollü aydınlatma varlığı), görüntü çözünürlüğü, alt küme boyutu ve adım aralığı parametreleri ile iki farklı korelasyon yöntemi dikkate alınarak analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygun alt küme boyutunun seçilmesi ve görüntülerin kontrollü aydınlatma ile yüksek çözünürlük koşullarında alınması durumunda, DIC analizi sonucu elde edilen birim şekil değiştirme değerleri, LVDT'lerden elde edilen değerler ile örtüşmektedir.
Purpose: To compare the deformation measurements obtained by LVDT (Linear variable differential transformer) and DIC methods; to investigate the usability of DIC technique for multiple cracking analysis of ECC. Theory and Methods: Dog-bone shaped tensile specimens were produced by using high tenacity polypropylene fibers (HTPP-ECC). The deformations of the composites under tensile loading were recorded by use of 4 LVDT and a DIC based camera system. Stress-strain curves of specimens were drawn and the strains obtained by LVDT (εLVDT) and DIC (εDIC) measurements were compared. Crack analysis of HTPP-ECC's were performed by using DIC method and compared with manual crack counting results. Results: Strains obtained from the LVDTs and DIC were close to each other. Difference between the number of cracks found by manual crack count and DIC analysis was observed. Conclusion: DIC has superiority than traditional methods such LVDT owing to its availability to both deformation and multiple crack analysis.
