O presente artigo se voltará para uma questão específica: a estrutura neurótica obsessiva compulsiva e a relação do desejo. Desse modo, o estudo irá abordar o conceito de desejo (inconsciente) como um investimento erótico, a partir do conceito de falta, relacionando-o, as manifestações do psiquismo enquanto sintoma no obsessivo, como a culpa, a dúvida e o sofrimento pelo pensamento, característico deste. O objetivo do estudo visa apontar como ocorre a relação do neurótico obsessivo com seu desejo. O estudo é o resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica no contexto da abordagem psicanalítica, utilizando como marcadores centrais a teoria freud-lacaniana através de algumas de suas obras, além de material escrito de alguns de seus comentadores, sobre o tema proposto. Por fim, o artigo desenvolve e conclui a relação complexa do obsessivo com o seu desejo como protótipo problemático em uma ambivalente escolha do sujeito em desejar ou não desejar, por estar na dependência do Outro, encontrando-se preso na demanda alheia.
